My First Night in Drag

I've always wanted to get into theater and other areas that have to do with singing or acting, it just looked like a lot of fun...so when I was presented with an opportunity to dress in drag - as a man nonetheless!  I took it and ran with it. I've never performed before so I was slightly jittery right before going on stage..but my performance was very well received and I had a great time!  I performed on Saturday night, how funny that Lady Gaga performed in drag on Sunday! Is it in the air? Here's a shot of me as my drag alter ego, Marlon Brandingo.

Marlon is totally a badass (but sort of a pretty boy with that earring)
who gets reallytheatrical on stage and exudes a lot of energy.

Today, I'm back to regular, ultra femme, Retro Natural. T'was so nice to be a guy, I'm gonna do it again in September! Perhaps I'll get into acting next! I think I scared my neighbors, they're kinda macho!

Any performers out there? What style do you do? What made you get into it? I'd love to hear some cool stories!

Hey Miss Lady!

I perform with a group of belly dancers! Keep performing and the gitters will fade away!

Here's link to our performance :)

well your beard-stubble looks spot-on! *heehee! Next time thicker, less arched eyebrows...take out your earrings & go for some "manly-er" jewelry...and maybe a hat for your pretty hair!!

You are just too gorgeous as a real woman!! I love watching drag queens too & never miss RuPaul's Drag Race - can't wait for the new season!!

There aren't enough Drag Kings in the world. You should keep it up :) I could never pull it off.

When I lived in SF, I worked with a lot Queens. Fab ladies, but rarely (actually I don't think ever) did I see a King.

We can't let dudes have all the gender bending fun, can we?

Wow! I've also always dreamt of doing a little bit of theatre on the side...I'm so glad you got a chance and you loved every bit of it.

Love the head scarf in the second picture by the way :D

I'm an actor and have been for many years. I love that you named your character Marlon Brandingo.
Seriously, if you haven't see the Wild Ones with Marlon Brando. Watch it. Just watch how he moves physically it can help you bring your Marlon come to alive.
The first rule for acting, I feel is that if you believe it, the audience will.
Keep us posted about your performance in September

Thank you everyone :) I'll share details for the September 10th show soon!

@ Lilli, very cool! I've considered belly dancing too but this randomly came around first :)

@ Hope, I appreciate the feedback, this photo was taken on the way to the show, so my earrings weren't actually used. When you have stretched lobes, it's not a good idea to keep out your jewelry for too long.

@ ShellyJ, I totally agree but I suppose that means this will be a very fun area for me to work in!

@ Funbi, my only advice is to seek it out and have fun with it, I regret not getting into theater type shows earlier..I almost did but it never came into fruition.

@ Shelly, How cool! I surely will check out that movie again, I don't remember all of the movement so I'm sure it'll be fun to study it. The crowd enjoyed my masculine side a lot, I'm surprised it came out so easily!

Love the 5 o' clock shadow! When I do dressing up for a themed party, for some reason I always dress up as men! I've been Sid Vicious, Michael Jackson and Maralin Manson over the years! ha ha ;)

@ Stylish Thought, I will definitely post more soon, there was a lil photoshoot for him since he doesn't get to come out and play too too often :) be on the look out!
