Me yesterday wearing a retro style shift dress (that some of your may remember from a certain web series that never really made it past episode #1 haha!) that I found ages ago.  It's not vintage but it does has a retro look, it's from Gap but I forget what thrift shop I found it at. It's short (and I no longer do "short garments" with the exception of shorts unless there are tights involved) so I wore it over straight leg jeans and low brown faux suede pumps - apologies on the lack of photos showing such!   This is also a friendly warning: this is what happens if you use too little leave in conditioner and coconut oil...poofy 30s inspired waves! Ah rushing. Haste makes waste but que sera, sera!

So, you don't do short anymore... I don't either but I have this weird age-appropriate rule. After, 35 a woman should not wear shorts nor short skirts.

I know you had your reasons for parting ways with the yammyu channel, but you seemed a natural at presenting and I'm kinda hopeful you'll do something like that again, on your own channel or website. I know you mentioned broadcasting in a tweet before and I think you'd be awesome at it!

By the way, I attempted TWICE this weekend to make the flaxseed gel, and both times it was too thick to go through the strainer. I was quite frustrated that I couldn't manage to make something so simple! I won't lie, I thought more than once lately about going back to straight hair because I stink at styling, etc.

I bet that dress was too cute with the jeans! And what's up the rule of no shorts after 35...LOL...I guess my mother should be put in jail because I'm 32 and she is still wearing her short shorts :)

Curly Chronicles,

Where do you purchase your vintage clothing? I really am buying into vintage now, you have inspired me totally!! Plus how do you care for your clothing? Do you hand wash, machine wash or dry clean?....Some of the pieces I purchased are missing asset tags along with care tags so I have a small mountain of vintage articles in my laundry basket untouched because I don't want to ruin my fabulous finds I found while thrifting):-)!!..Help, help, helllllllpppp :-)..

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

@ Erika and Tashelle, I think I worded that sentence wrong, I meant that I don't do short as in short garments like mini skirts and tiny jean shorts..my apologies, I think I confused ya! I don't mind more mature styles like bermudas but things way above the knee are odd to me now!

@Tashelle, I can't be mad at your mom..I bet she looks great in her mini shorts! :)

@ Kennie, I'd love to host a show, it's definitely something I think about often..perhaps one of these days! Sorry to hear the flax gel didn't work out too well..If it's too thick I wonder if the water to flax ratio is too low?

@ Hope, I tend to hand wash the delicate items and for the others that I'm afraid to shrink, I take to the cleaners! I trust a stranger at a cleaners more than I trust myself!

@ Hope, I totally failed at answering the first question haha! I find my vintage pieces at various places. The usual places are the Goodwill, the Long Beach Flea Marker (best kept secret!) and more recently Retro Row (4th street's block of retro shops in Long Beach). I have purchased from Etsy as well..I think this area certainly deserves it's own post, I gotta get to posting! :D
